Malin 69 years old, Suffered from unwanted hair growth as a result of ovarian cancer

”Two to three weeks after undergoing surgery, new tests were taken indicating a normal testosterone level. Everything was back to normal except for my hair growth which had become excessive and thicker in unwanted places”
A medical referral was given to me by my doctor in August 2006 to be examined at the endocrine surgery of ’Södersjukhuset’.
My symptoms are listed below:
Dizziness 2-3 times a day
Unwanted facial hair growth
The hair on my scalp became thinner and I got bald spots at the sides of my head
10 kilo weight loss
Thighs, backside and breasts were reduced in size
Change in body shape
Sharper facial features
Deeper voice
Dark hair growth on my arms, chest, stomach and thighs
Trembling hands
Snoring
My testosterone levels were very high and the doctor suggested that we should look for a tumour. After many examinations with no results, the doctor suggested I should have my ovaries removed. My ovaries were removed and blisters were found on them which were identified as the cause of my problems. Two to three weeks after undergoing surgery, new tests were taken indicating a normal testosterone level. Everything was back to normal except for my hair growth which had become excessive and thicker in unwanted places. My hormone doctor wrote me a medical referral to see a councillor who recommended I receive permanent hair removal treatment. I was given a list of approved clinics I could go to. I chose to call Leilas Hudvårdsklinik where I have been receiving treatment once a week for approximately a year. I have seen fantastic results and I am excited about the future.
